This book is a great reference for budding and experienced gardeners with regards to wide range of gardening topics. This book focuses on creating and managing a great looking outdoor garden with all its beauty and grandeur. It is a perfect guide book and an excellent gift. The unique part about this book is the manner in which the information is delivered to the user. As indicated in the title, this book looks at gardening on a month-by-month basis. So you can start from any month and follow how to handle your gardens accordingly. This is an interesting approach to providing information for any gardener. The actual information in this book ranges from some commonplace information which you probably can get from a less expensive source too, to some real unique Martha Stewart tips which may not be found anywhere else. Martha Stewart does a lot of experimentation through grafting, transplanting, etc in her gardens and you can get first hand information on the favorable results. One of the highlights of Martha Stewart’s approach to gardening is to use as much natural solutions to gardening problems as possible. So be it getting better plants or pest control, the focus is on making better soil that overloading the plants with chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The best part of such techniques is that you could rely on your own garden for most of the raw materials, unlike with chemical approach. The book not only looks at gardening skills in general, but also gives information on some interesting vegetables and flowers too.
