Oasis is typically associated with deserts - a small water body in the middle of a desert surrounded by plants and trees.

Many would not associate it with an urban lifestyle. That may be true for the real oasis, but you can recreate an oasis in your own garden itself.

Wooden Furniture

With wooden furniture, you are better off with regards to durability. Wooden items of furniture are more durable than plastic ones when subjected to daily wear and tear.

However, their appearance does deteriorate over time if you do not carry out basic wood maintenance to preserve the wood. With weathering they tend to become duller, but with regular treatment, or by painting them, you can keep them looking good.

Another cause of concern, especially if there is a water body close by is the chances of rotting. You need to ensure that wooden furniture doesn’t stay in contact with moisture for too long - especially the legs as they are the first to get affected. Be sure to get recommendations as to which preservative to use for longevity from the supplier when you buy your furniture.

Wooden furniture does make for an excellent natural fit in gardens in terms of the look and feel.

Metal Furniture

Lastly, metal furniture – these are made of metals like wrought iron or some other alloy. Depending on the design, these can be heavy or light.

In either case, these are the most durable kind of furniture. They would also be expensive, but given their longevity, it may be worth the price. However with these types of furniture, you are kind of stuck with a limited variation in colour and pattern.
