Hyacinth
Hyacinth Is one of those wonderfully fragrant flowers that pop up early in the Spring. They also come in a variety of colors white, yellow, pink, blue, lavender, salmon, orange, pink and red. Plant these bulbs in the fall with enough time to let the roots establish themselves. They should be planted 6 to 8 inches deep and no closer than 6 inches. Add a little bone meal in the soil at this time. Then look for these early risers in the Spring. After they bloom you will need to stake them as the large amount of flowers will make the plant top heavy. When the flowers have disappeared and the leave are yellow you can cut them to the ground, but not before as the leaves must remain to replenish the energy in the bulb for even a better season next year.
